Spring 2024 - The 2024 CNP Content Creators Lab

LAB DESCRIPTION

For the Spring 2024 CNP Lab, we are hosting a special workshop series called, the "CNP Content Creators Lab." If you're interested in becoming a content creator, expanding your platform, or just interested in the relationship between content creation and social change, we invite you to apply to become a part of our Lab. Topics covered include: Content Creators and Social Change, Getting Started as a Content Creator, Video Editing, AI, and the future of Content Creation.

Content Creators play a critical role, in not only countering narratives, but shattering myths. Marginalized communities in particular, have been able to shed light on critical issues, in ways that would not have been possible for previous generations. Increasingly, content creators are trusted sources for issue awareness, entertainment, education, and affirmation.

Video content in particular, is everywhere. From short form videos on TikTok, streaming services like Netflix and Hulu to user-content giant YouTube, video is being used to communicate thoughts and feelings as well as shift narratives.

The Counter Narrative Project (CNP) has used video content in our strategy since our inception, and over the years we've learned many tips. This video content creation lab will teach our method for video content creation including tools, scripting, editing and AI.

All sessions will include both a lesson and skills training.
