Black Gay Vote
The Black Gay Vote initiative is our civic engagement project that will raise awareness and mobilize our community around voter registration. Launched in 2018, the Counter Narrative Project will work to ensure that our community is engaged around voting. Recognizing the important civil rights legacy around voting, we also will work to ensure that voting rights are protected and our community votes.
The Counter Narrative Project in partnership with the Harm Reduction Coalition and BEAM launched Blueprint: A Guide to Reducing Harms of Crystal Meth Use Among Black Gay and Bisexual Men to raise awareness about and find solutions that address the growing trend of crystal meth use among black gay and bisexual men. This year-long project will develop and promote crystal meth harm reduction strategies and mobilize the community to engage and support black gay and bisexual men who use crystal meth.
The PrEP Collective is our new initiative that seeks to mobilize our community to advocate around PrEP access. We offer trainings, host community forums, and create content related to PrEP. Contact us for more information.
Brother to Brother
The Counter Narrative Project hosts mobilizations every quarter to engage black gay men and allies around issues impacting our community. Brother to Brother offers peer support and coaching for individuals and organizations around conflict, leadership, and building power.
Arts & Culture
The Counter Narrative Project believes that Arts & Culture are movement building tools. They give us language to discuss some of our most difficult challenges. This working group is for artists, writers, storytellers and cultural workers.
