"I Will Be Heard" is a call to action, a collective response to the impact of HIV on the lives of black gay men and the social and structural drivers of the epidemic in our communities. #IWillBeHeard is also a celebration of the legacy of black gay writer and activist Craig G. Harris. The Counter Narrative Project on June 27th will mobilize black gay men and allies in their local communities to respond. In response to the American Public Health Association (APHA) decision to not invite anyone of color to participate on the panel of its first ever AIDS workshop, at its 1986 association meeting, Harris stormed the stage and screamed "I WILL BE HEARD."
